The Front Royal Police Department/Warren County Sheriff's Office Citizen's Police Academy is now accepting applications for the next session, which begins Feb. 2 and concludes on May 11.

The session will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays at Skyline High School. The course is free for anyone living or working in Front Royal or Warren County.
According to a press release from the Front Royal Police Department:
"The purpose of the Citizen's Police Academy is to educate the public about law enforcement services delivered by the Front Royal Police Department and the Warren County Sheriff's Office, in order to foster understanding and community support for the law enforcement agencies."
The session includes an overview of patrol, investigations, court proceedings, basic training requirements and special operations units. Participants will visit the Sheriff's Office telecommunications center and will part take part in the Front Royal police ride-along program.
