VIN etching event scheduled in Front Royal

Front Royal police and Virginia State Police will sponsor a VIN etching event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 26 at the fire department on Commerce Avenue.
According to a release issued today:
The purpose of this program is to help protect vehicles from theft. The owner of the vehicle to be etched must bring the current registration, which will be verified through the VCIN computer before etching. There is NO CHARGE for this service and it will take place rain or shine. The process only takes about 10 minutes. Motorcycles are welcome to participate and boats, trailers, campers and AVTs are also eligable for etching.
