Gov. Bob McDonnell has ordered the state flag to be lowered to half-staff today through sunset Friday at all local, state and federal buildings and grounds in memory of Virginia State Trooper Mark D. Barrett.
Barrett, 41, died Tuesday following a a deep-water training exercise on Lake Anna. He patrolled in Henrico County and Richmond.
