Phone problems resolved in Winchester

Telephone problems impacted 911 calls Tuesday morning in Winchester. The following was issued by Winchester Police Chief Kevin L. Sanzenbacher:

The Winchester Police Department wants to announce that we have experienced widespread telephone problems throughout the area. Calls to 911 are still being received but there may be delays. The problem seems to be fixed at this point but citizens experiencing problems calling 911 are encouraged to go to the closest firehouse or police station, or they can e-mail the Winchester ECC at winecc@ci.winchesetr.va.us.
