Random baggage checks now being made at Metro stations

If you travel to the Washington area and use the Metro, be advised that Metro Transit Police are now randomly checking passenger bags and packages.

If you refuse to cooperate, you will not be allowed to bring the carry-on item into the Metro system.

Metro Transit Police will be working with the Transportation Security Administration and K-9 units during the inspections.
