FRONT ROYAL -- Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on Blue Mountain Road, according to state police.
Emergency crews responded to Blue Mountain Road and Reynolds Drive around 4:30 p.m., according to state police Sgt. F.L. "Les" Tyler.
Mary Carter, 74, of Front Royal, had been driving west on Blue Mountain Road in a 2003 GMC pickup, Tyler said. Carter's vehicle "crossed over the center line and side-swiped" a 2004 Dodge four-door sedan, driven by Erika Luera, 24, of Front Royal.
Luera's vehicle hit several Shenandoah Farms property mailboxes along the road, Tyler said. Carter's vehicle continued until colliding head-on with a 2007 Chevrolet pickup driven by David G. Peacoe, 71, of Front Royal.
All drivers were wearing seat belts and had no passengers in their vehicles, Tyler said.
Carter was taken to Winchester Medical Center and later flown to University of Virginia Hospital. Luera was taken to Warren Memorial Hospital, Tyler said, while Peacoe was evaluated at the scene and not transported.
Charges have not yet been filed, and the incident remains under investigation by Trooper T. Hilliker, Tyler said.
The Warren County Sheriff's Office and Warren County Fire and Rescue also responded to the scene.
