Nationwide emergency alert system test planned

Don't be alarmed! At 2 p.m. on Wednesday you will hear and see the first ever national Emergency Alert System test.

The test, which will last about three minutes, will be broadcast on radio, TV, cable and certain satellite programs.

Area emergency personnel are requesting that you do not call them during this test unless you are in an emergency situation and need assistance.
