The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch for Saturday afternoon through Saturday evening for our region.
The high temperature will be about 100 degrees around noon on Saturday, and the heat index value could climb to 110 on Saturday afternoon.
A heat advisory has been issued for Virginia's central foothills, the northern Piedmont and the Washington, D.C. metro area for Friday. The high will be around 98 and low will be 75. Heat indices will be around 105.
