Incidents reported to the Shenandoah County Sheriff's Office on July 26-29:
July 27: Authorities are investigating a case of destruction of property involving a vehicle parked at a home on Courtland Way in Edinburg.
July 28: Deputies charged Jacob Paxton Berghuis, age not available, of 891 Stoneburner Road, Edinburg, with underage possession of alcohol and giving false identification to law enforcement, according to the sheriff's office.
Berghuis is scheduled to appear in Shenandoah County General District Court on Aug. 10. Deputies also charged Gary Delbert Jenkins III, 19, of 75 Catlett Mountain Road, Front Royal, with underage possession of alcohol and public intoxication; and Georgia Dawn Carrington, 18, of 496 Albin Drive, Stephens City, with underage possession of alcohol. Jenkins and Carrington are scheduled to appear in the court Aug. 24. Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance in the 300 block of Coal Mine Road, Strasburg. Deputies arrived to find several people standing in the road by a vehicle. They appeared to have been drinking alcoholic beverages, according to the sheriff's office.
July 28: Authorities are investigating a burglary from a residence on Swann Road in Edinburg. A suspect or suspects entered the residence sometime between July 21 and July 28, caused damage and took costume jewelry, clothing, food and an undetermined amount of 50-cent pieces, according to the sheriff's office.
July 28: Deputies charged Joel Angel Espinal, 41, of 197 Franwood Lane, New Market, with one count of domestic assault and battery. Espinal assaulted his 25-year-old girlfriend, according to information from the sheriff's office. Espinal is scheduled to appear in Shenandoah County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court on Aug. 30.
July 29: Authorities are investigating a destruction of property report made Sunday involving several damaged mailboxes on Mill and Moose roads in Woodstock.
