Major David White retires from Winchester Police Department
Winchester police today announced that Maj. David White is retiring after 33 years with According to a release, White entered the department as a dispatcher in 1979 and became an officer in 1982. He also has served as a detective, sergeant, lieutenant, captain, deputy chief and interim chief from September 2007 to November 200. Police Chief Kevin Sanzenbacher states in the release that "it is a sad time for the department, "as we are losing someone who has been the conscience and heart of the organization for a long time. But, it is also an exciting time as we get to promote employees into positions that will challenge them and set new courses for the Department." Those promoted are: Lt. Mike Danielson to captain of the administration division. He has been with the depatment for 16 years. Sgt. Rob Bower to lieutenant. He has been with the department for 14 years. Sgt. Mark Lahman to lieutenant. He has been with the department for 11 years. Corp. Wayne Monse to sergeant. He has been with the department for five years. Corp.
