Snow fell across the region overnight and is expected to end later this morning, but it will impact the morning commute, according to the National Weather Service.
A winter weather advisory for Northern Virginia will remain in effect through mid-morning, and a wind chill advisory is in effect today for portions of the Allegheny and Potomac Highlands.
Public schools reported closed today include Frederick, Warren and Clarke counties and the city of Winchester. Shenandoah County public schools are closed today for a professional work day.
All locations of Lord Fairfax Community College will open at 11 a.m. today, according to the school's website.
