Suspicious package found

Daily staff report

A large black suitcase was the subject of a bomb scare on Wednesday. At approximately 2:30 p.m., the Frederick County Fire Marshal's Office responded to an alert for a suspicious package in an office building at 158 Front Royal Pike, according to a news release.

The Fire Marshal's Office and Frederick County Sheriff's Office evacuated the property and established a perimeter. The Virginia State Police Bomb Squad inspected the suitcase and determined it to be safe. It was then removed and properly disposed, the release states.
