A Frederick County woman was found dead in her home from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to a media release.
Deputies from the Frederick County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a suicidal subject at approximately 3:49 p.m. Thursday, the release states. They heard gunshots when they arrived at the house.
The deputies set up a perimeter around the house and were able to speak with the sole occupant for a short while through a cell phone before she cut off communication, according to the release. After unsuccessfully attempting several times to reestablish communication, the Frederick County Emergency Response Team gained entry to the residence and found the woman.
The Frederick County CNT, North Mountain Fire Department and Frederick County Emergency Services also responded to the scene.
