VDOT to close two roads next week


Daily staff report

Pipe replacement work will close two roads in Shenandoah County next week.

Virginia Department of Transportation crews plan to close Back Road approximately 0.16 of a mile north of Pontzer Road (Va. 697) in the Mount Olive area, from 7 a.m. Tuesday to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Southbound traffic will detour on Va. 601 east to U.S. 11 south, to Va. 651 west to Va. 623. Northbound traffic will detour on Va. 651 east to U.S. 11 north, to Va. 601 west to Va. 623.

Crews then plan to close Alonzaville Road (Va. 681), approximately 0.16 of a mile south of Fairview Road (Va. 604) in the Fairview area, from 7 a.m. Thursday to 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Southbound traffic will detour on Va. 604 east to Va. 623 south, to Va. 676 west to Va. 681. Northbound traffic will detour on Va. 676 east to Va. 623 north, to Va. 604 to Va. 681.
