Man wanted for passing counterfeit money

The Winchester Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a male who is wanted for passing counterfeit money.

A release issued by the department on Friday states that a Belk employee received 30 counterfeit $20 bills from a customer at about 7 p.m. on Nov. 6. It describes the suspect as a white male between 30 and 40 years old with brown hair.

Anyone with information about the suspect or his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Solvers at 540-665-TIPS (8477).
