Two suspects sought after SunTrust robbery
Daily staff report
A robbery took place at 9 a.m. Wednesday at SunTrust Bank on Amherst Street in Winchester.
A Winchester Police Department news release reported that two individuals left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash. They displayed no weapons.
The suspects were described as black men, both weighing between 280 and 300 pounds. The first suspect wore a green coat, glasses, black pants, boots, an old style Army hat, and had a thin mustache. The second man wore a bright orange hat with an emblem on it, a button-down pink or orange shirt, a leather brown coat, and sunglasses.
The two were last seen heading west on Amherst Street in a black four-door sedan.
Police issued another news release later Wednesday reporting that surveillance photos revealed the two suspects robbing three other banks. They are believed to have robbed United Bank in Charles Town, W.Va. twice, on Oct. 22 and Nov. 25, and Citizens National Bank in Berkeley County, W.Va. on Dec. 3.
Anyone with information about the suspects or their whereabouts is asked to call Crime Solvers at 540-665-TIPS (8477).
