Winchester police charge man with attempted murder
The Winchester Police Department police department has charged local resident Jonathan Lee Long Sr. with attempted second degree murder, according to a news release.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred early Tuesday morning in the 2300 block of Valley Avenue.
According to the release, an unnamed woman told officers that a man — now identified as Long — held a gun to her head and attempted to fire the weapon.
Long has also been charged with domestic violence, brandishing a firearm, and reckless handling of a firearm.
Police have also served Long with warrants for attempted second degree murder as well as felony child neglect, according to the release.
Long is currently being held without bond at Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center in Winchester.
The incident is still being investigated by Winchester police.
