Truck crash sends driver to hospital
A Shenandoah County man suffered injuries in a single-vehicle crash in Maurertown on Monday morning.
A 1978 GMC truck driven by Cornelio Juarez, 44, of Maurertown, crashed at approximately 11:10 a.m. on Zion Church Road, just south of Black Bear Road in Maurertown, according to information provided by state police spokesman Sgt. F.L. “Les” Tyler. The farm-use truck carrying a water tank on the back was heading south on Zion Church Road when it traveled into a curve, ran off the road to the right and overturned, Tyler said.
Emergency responders took Juarez to Winchester Medical Center, Tyler said. The crash remains under investigation by Trooper M.T. Brill. The Toms Brook Volunteer Fire Department, Woodstock Rescue Squad and Strasburg Rescue Squad assisted, Tyler said.
