comments Leave a comment

A truck carrying a 28-foot wide steel structure bound for the U.S. Navy in Baltimore will be moving through our area tonight or early tomorrow morning and will cause traffic delays on northbound Interstate 81.

The Virginia Department of Transportation reports today that the truck has stopped at the Interstate 81 New Market rest area in Rockingham County and will leave there at 9 tonight to continue its northbound journey on I-81. The truck is expected to reach the West Virginia border before 6 a.m. Thursday.

The truck will be escorted by State Police and will pull over at pre-designated areas to allow traffic to pass.
