VDOT changes speed limit on Route 340 Business in Page County

(From a press release) The Virginia Department of Transportation will lower the speed limit on sections of Route 340 Business in Stanley on June 23, weather permitting.

On Route 340 Business in Stanley, the 55 mph limit will be lowered to 45 mph beginning at the 0.21 mile south of the Route 636 intersection to 0.13 miles south of the Route 622 intersection.

The speed limit will be lowered from 55 mph to 35 mph beginning at the 0.13 mile marker south of the Route 622 intersection to 0.08 mile south of the Route 622 intersection.

The changes are the result of a speed study that had been requested by the town of Stanley and the Luray residency administrator.
