Woman charged in attempted robbery of BB&T bank
According to a press release issued by Winchester police, a woman standing at a drive through window at the bank at 115 N. Cameron Street passed the teller a note. The note said the woman had a gun and that she wanted $2,000. Police responded to the bank at 8:44 a.m. and found the woman still at the drive through window. They arrested Melinda Early, 46, of Winchester, without incident. No weapon was displayed and no money was exchanged, according to the release.
