A Winchester man has been arrested in connection with a break-in at South Loudoun Auto Sales on Saturday morning, according to a press release.

Quintin Terrel Smith, 19, of the 700 block of Emily Lane, has been charged with breaking and entering, attempted grand larceny, possession of burglary tools, drunk in public, underage possession of alcohol and obstruction of justice.

Police responded to a breaking and entering in progress at South Loudoun Auto Sales at 12:51 a.m. Saturday.

"Officer G.E. Lambert was the first responding officer on scene. He observed a male, identified as Smith, crouched near one of the vehicles on the lot. The officer identified himself and a foot pursuit ensued. Corporal S.S. Spaid was en route to assist when he encountered Smith being pursued by Officer Lambert near the intersection of James and S. Loudoun streets. Corporal Spaid was able to apprehend Smith," the release states.

Some items, not identified, were stolen from the business. Smith is being held without bond at the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center.
