2 arrested in Handley High School break-in

WINCHESTER - Winchester police report the arrests of two men who broke into Handley High School on May 28 and did several thousand dollars of damage to the school's computers.

Patrick Keith Stickley, 21 of Gerrardstown Rd., Inwood, W.Va., and Michael Edward Jones II, 27 of Clearbrook, have been arrested and charged with breaking and entering and felony destruction of property.

According to a press release issued this morning:

On June 5, 2009 the Winchester Police Department completed and disseminated a media release to the local affiliates. The Winchester Police Department was asking for the public help in identifying the suspects of the crime. The media release contained two photos of the suspects that were captured by the school security cameras. Several local affiliates ran the story and distributed the pictures which led to a number of concerned citizens calling to provide tips on the suspects' identity. Through these tips the suspects were identified and interviewed. The suspects confessed to breaking into the school and damaging the property...

The Winchester Police Department would like to thank the affiliates for reporting the story and would like to extend a special thank you to the community for their active involvement in helping to solve these cases. This is a great example of how with active participation we can assist one another to produce a very positive outcome.
