T.O. released; Redskins fans ROTFL

Late Wednesday night (after my deadline, of course), the Dallas Cowboys released their enigmatic, polarizing and overpaid wide receiver Terrell Owens. When I saw the news on ESPN, I quickly contacted my closest Redskins fan. No answer. Apparently he was fielding a text message from another Redskins fan. I hopped on Facebook.com, and my football friends were reveling in the fate of the man better known as simply T.O.

But as Redskins fans everywhere rejoiced and celebrated Mr. Owens' slap in the face from the Cowboys, should they be a little edgy with Dan Snyder's pocketbook wide open? After all, if there's anything Jim Zorn and Jason Campbell would love to have, its a big target to complement the small, speedy skill set of Santana Moss and company. T.O. is perfect, even if he's on the downside of his career and has been exhibiting a knack for dropping balls. If he takes a significant paycut with the idea of winning a Super Bowl, wouldn't the Redskins make sense? Moreso than the Raiders, at least.

So chew on that while you roll on the floor laughing: Terrell Owens, in D.C., wearing the burgandy and gold ... and tainting Art Monk's No. 81 with his selfish, divisive personality.

It's just crazy enough to happen.

At least he'd cry when Jason Campbell inevitably gets blasted by media and fans by Week 3:
