Local boxers win at Sportsplex

If you followed my boxing stories in Friday's and Saturday's issue of the Northern Virginia Daily, you knew the stories behind local professional boxers Andrew Farmer and Scott Hosaflook. Sitting ringside on Saturday night at the Winchester Sportsplex, I watched them both take home victories.

Hosaflook, of Edinburg, took down veteran fighter Derek Amos in a four-round bout. Hosaflook won by majority decision (two of the three judges scored him with the win; one did not).

Farmer won by unanimous decision, taking basically every round in the judges' eyes. There were eight rounds.

So congrats to both boxers. And if you haven't been to a show at the Sportsplex, go. I talked with several first-timers that really enjoyed the night.
