The Hornets have won. Again.
That's 5-for-5 if you are scoring at home.
Shenandoah University's baseball team is competing in the Division 3 World Series and won its opening-round game against Farmingdale State College on Friday night. The Hornets breezed too. They built a 5-0 lead and eventually won 12-2. They'll play in the winner's bracket semifinals on Saturday.
The Daily has provided outstanding coverage of the tournament run, including four game stories from the South Regional last weekend, three feature stories this week, a column by yours truly and now game coverage from Appleton, Wis., site of the World Series. Visit the sports section of this site to catch up on all your reading. Hey, it's a holiday weekend!
And check out Saturday's print edition of the Daily for the recap of Shenandoah's World Series win.
Wow. Just ... wow.
