Safety network to tour plant

(From a press release) Northern Shenandoah Valley Safety Network May meeting will be held during a plant tour of Ferguson Enterprises, 620 Fairground Road, Front Royal beginning at 11 a.m. May 14.

Cost is $15, and that includes lunch. Call or e-mail to make reservation.

Raise funds for Central, Strasburg High Schools by test driving a Ford

(From a press release) WOODSTOCK - In a creative twist on traditional fundraising, the residents of Shenandoah County and the surrounding area will have the opportunity to earn money for both Central and Strasburg High Schools by test driving a new Ford vehicle.

For each person who takes a 2008 Focus, Edge or other new Ford product for a spin during the Cruise 4 UR School event on May 3, Ford and Muhlenburg Ford Mercury will donate $20, up to a total of $6,000, to Central and Strasburg High Schools' Athletic Booster Clubs.

To participate, visit Muhlenburg Ford Mercury, 430 Hoover Road, Woodstock, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. May 3.

Harp Extravaganza II raises close to $10,000

newharp.jpg(From a press release) On April 19-20 at Park View Mennonite Church in Harrisonburg, HARP EXTRAVAGANZA II raised just short of $10,000 for the Fuller Center for Housing, a recent initative co-founded by Millard and Linda Fuller, co-founders also of Habitat for Humanity and present for the events. A challenge grant matched donations to this cause.
