(From a press release) Five area Girl Scout troops are sending 50 scouts to two World Association Girl Guides and Girl Scouts centers located in England and Switzerland in June.
The scouts, ranging in age from 11 to 63, leave June 24 and will spend 14 days in Europe. They will visit Pax Lodge in London, tour Paris and then visit the Scout's chalet in Adelboden, Switzerland.
Fund-raising for the trip, which will cost each girl $2,900, has been going on for four years. The scouts sold more than 20,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies, provided babysitting and odd jobs services, held concessions at the Apple Blossom Festival, washed over 300 cars, and solicited donations from friends and family.
