The Apple Valley Scale Company in Winchester is seeking donations of pet items through Dec. 19 for the S.P.C.A. and Ester Boyd Shelter. Items may be dropped off at 225 Lenoir Dr. or PetSmart on Nov. 29 and Petco on Dec. 6.

The Total Image & Workingman's Store in Winchester is collecting canned food through Thanksgiving to be donated to the Lord Fairfax Area Food Bank.
They are also sponsoring a "Christmas wish" and are soliciting names of families who are in need of extra help this Christmas. Submissions need to include the submitter's name and be turned in by Thanksgiving.

Bowman Library in Stephens City will hold a public paper shredding day on Nov. 15 from noon to 3 p.m. Dominion Document Shredding will shred on-site any amount of paper that the public bring. Households and small businesses are welcome.

On Nov. 8, local Boy and Cub Scouts will go door to door placing hangers/bags for non-perishable food items to be donated to local food banks.
The food will be collected on Nov. 15.
Yates Slaughter in Page County is involved in the Hunters for Hungry Program. Donations of deer meat are now being accepted for this program.
