Antique appraisal fair today

The Woodstock Museum of Shenandoah County is holding its 2nd Annual Antiques Appraisal Fair from 3 to 8 p.m. today. The fair will be held indoors at the American Legion, 411 S. Muhlenberg St., Woodstock. Experts will be available to appraise glass, pottery, textiles, jewelry, furniture, valley antiques, holiday and more. $10 each item or 3 for $25. All proceeds go to the museum.

Civil War weddings is the topic of a lecture by Susan Anthony at 7 p.m. Friday at the Strasburg Community Library. Anthony is an independent scholar on mid-19th century American courtship, weddings and marriage. She will appear in a reproduction 19th century bridal dress.
