Festivals, a battle and Buddy Holly todayThe Strasburg Mayfest continues today. Events include a walk/run at 8 a.m., the Cruise-In Car Show from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the Mayfest parade at 2 p.m. There's carnival rides and food booths set up behind the fire station. The 22nd annual Virginia Wine & Craft Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today in historic downtown Front Royal. Twenty wineries, crafts, food, children's area, live entertainment, Shenandoah Corvettes. Wine admission is available at the gate for $18. More info: (540) 635-3185. Web site: www.wineandcraftfestival.com. It's Civil War re-enactment weekend at the New Market Battlefield State Historical Park today and Sunday. Camps open at 10 a.m. and the grounds close at 5 p.m. "An Evening with Buddy Holly," featuring Robbie Limon, will be held at 7 p.m. at Sherando High School in Stephens City. The event will benefit the Winchester-Frederick County Child Advocacy Center -- The ChildSafe Center. To purchase tickets go to www.robbielimonband.com or call 247-9171. Tina Roberts offers stained glass workshops at her New Market studio beginning today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. The two-day class will be on the copper foil method. Workshops also will be held June 7 and 8. Classes on intermediate leaded glass will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 24 and 25, and June 21 and 22. Class fees are $125 per student.
