Book release partyA book release party for "Four Valiant Years in the Lower Shenandoah Valley: 1861-1865," by Laura Virginia Hale, will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. at Belle Boyd Cottage Patio at 101 Chester St. in Front Royal. The book is going into its fifth printing. Reserve a copy by calling the Warren Heritage Society at 636-1446 or the Warren Rifles Confederate Memorial Museum at 636-6982. The Town of Shenandoah in Page County will hold its 11th annual Memorial Day Festival and Parade this weekend. There's an antique car show and live music and DJ from 6 to 9 p.m. today, and a parade, carnival, food, games and dog, truck, motorcycle, tractor and car shows on Saturday. Lagerhead will perform from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Strasburg Theater at 151 W. King St. in Strasburg. Call 465-1777 or go online to www.strasburgtheater.com for more information. The Robbie Limon Band will open Woodstock's Music on Main concert series at the Woodstock Main Street Park from 7 to 9 p.m. The series is free and open to the public, but donations will be accepted for the American Cancer Society.
