Book release party

A book release party for "Four Valiant Years in the Lower Shenandoah Valley: 1861-1865," by Laura Virginia Hale, will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. at Belle Boyd Cottage Patio at 101 Chester St. in Front Royal. The Town of Shenandoah in Page County will hold its 11th annual Memorial Day Festival and Parade this weekend. There's an antique car show and live music and DJ from 6 to 9 p.m. today, and a parade, carnival, food, games and dog, truck, motorcycle, tractor and car shows on Saturday.
