The Front Royal Flames Football Team is looking for 8th-11th grade boys - Private and Home School Students - for their newly formed high school football team. Registration begins August 15th and ends August 24th. All positions are open. The Flames will be compete next year ( Fall 2010) in the Mid-Atlantic Christian Football League. However, we are starting the football program beginning this fall on August 24th, 2009 at 5 p.m. The cost is $30. Practices will be held at the 4-H Center in Front Royal on Monday evenings. The Woodstock-Edinburg Little League will have fall ball. Over the past two years the league's fall ball has become one of the biggest in the area. We are encouraging parents to sign up early so we know the number of players available. Fall ball practice typically starts in August, games start in September. It is important to note that while registration is open to all age groups, it is possible that not enough players will sign up in some divisions. In this instance we will offer practices for these small groups or offer refunds for parents. Age of the player is determined by 2010 spring season dates. Baseball player age is determined by the age on April 30, 2010. Softball player age is determined by the age of the player on December 31, 2009. Again we offer registration through the mail or online. Our online registration (CLICK HERE ) is now open, letters to players will go out at the end of June. The Warren County Youth Cheerleading Association will hold Midget Football Cheerleading registration(for returning cheerleaders) on May 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the Warren County Middle School and May 21 at 6:30 p.m. for new cheerleaders. The Woodstock-Edinburg Little League will hold its opening day ceremonies 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, at the Shenandoah County Fairgrounds. Players will walk in a Little League parade past the grandstand. Central assistant JV softball coach Jamie Nichols will be the featured speaker. She will throw the ceremonial first pitch of the season. Woodstock Boy Scout Troops will present colors and Debbie Cummins will sing the national anthem. The public is invited to the ceremonies. Gates open at 9 a.m. Opening day games will be held at Riverview Park off Cemetery Road east of Woodstock starting at 2 p.m. The day will culminate with an interleague softball game with Mt. There is a maximum of $100 per family. Fees go up $5 per child on Feb. 1. Online registration closes Feb. 13. Evaluation of players will be held Feb. 14.
