WINCHESTER -- The local Clarke Motors dealership is officially on the market.
The property on Berryville Pike east of the city is listed at $5.9 million, according to the Winchester office of commercial broker Sperry Van Ness.
The Dodge dealership was forced to close its doors amid the struggles of its parent company, Chrysler Corp.
Clarke Motors, which opened in the mid-1950s and moved to Berryville Pike in 1972, had been a one-franchise operation since 2004, when it stopped selling Volvo vehicles.
The Dodge franchise rights were recently sold to Don Beyer Volvo on Valley Avenue.
