CARLISLE, Pa. — Beginning Sunday, Martin’s shoppers who use their BonusCard will be able to participate in the Gas Extra Rewards program for the full eight weeks of the promotional campaign.
Martin’s and its sister company, Giant Foods, have eliminated the two-week grace period during which customers could only redeem gas points they had already accumulated.
“We’d like to say ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’ to our customers with additional savings at the pump,” says Erik Keptner, senior vice president of marketing and advertising for Giant Foods, in a press release. “Our customers love this program, but were disappointed that they could not earn points during the final two weeks of the program.”
Martin’s customers will be alerted to the change through signs displayed both in the store and at the pump.
The Gas Extra Rewards program was launched in February 2006. For every $100 spent at Giant or Martin’s stores using a BonusCard, customers receive 10 cents off per gallon at any of the company’s on-site gas stations.
