Project in Warren gets 'green' light

FRONT ROYAL — A local startup, New Life Group LLC, has purchased 4 acres at North River Square, adjacent to Crooked Run Center, for an eco-friendly commercial project.

Debra Meszaros, of Bentonville, formed New Life Group with a mission to propel the green industry into mainstream lifestyle, according to a press release from the Front Royal-Warren County Economic Development Authority.

The 25,000-square-foot facility, to be known as GreenOutlets, will be built by AJM Construction Co. of Mineral, W.Va., using sustainable design concepts and green products.

Once completed, the center will house a professional pavilion on the second floor, with retail space on the main floor. Shared-space leases will be available.

All tenants must meet certain criteria for green, eco-friendly, fair-trade and health-related services or products, according to the release. Potential uses include alternative health professionals, organic foods, holistic pet care and supplies, organic bakeries, green personal care products, green home products, fair-trade clothing, fashion, jewelry and gifts, and green financial investment companies and banks.

Also included in the center will be an education center for the healing arts and sciences and a family restaurant featuring organic foods.

“We are excited about the concept and the timing could not be better,” says Jennifer McDonald, executive director of the local EDA. “Leadership in all sectors is realizing the need for sustainable development and ecologically-sound practices. This outlet will bring people to our community from all over the region.”

Limited space is still available. For more information, contact New Life Group at (866) 747-5355.
