Tire center faces public auction

WOODSTOCK — The Tire Distributors building on South Main Street is scheduled to go on the block next month.

The property will be sold at auction on May 5 at 11 a.m. on the Shenandoah County Circuit Courthouse steps, according to a legal notice.

Tire Distributors of Virginia has leased the building since its opening in 2004. The company offers tire sales and service as well as computerized alignment, brake service, engine diagnostics, tune-ups, suspension and transmission work.

Tire Distributors President Jeffrey Buettner said the company has a long-term lease in Woodstock, and the sale will have no effect on its local operations.

The notice does not list the owner of the property.

Buettner said business is good.

“It has improved every year we’ve been there, and we’re coming off a record year in a bad economy.”

Buettner said he may end up submitting a bid for the property. The company owns its other locations in Winchester and Romney, W.Va.
