VEC to host job fair on Aug. 26

WINCHESTER — The Virginia Employment Commission will host a job fair Aug. 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Sportsplex at 221 Commonwealth Court.

Job seekers can talk with prospective employers and begin the application process for positions that interest them.

Participating employers include Vets First Home Lending, Greenfield Senior Living, Options for Seniors, Securitas Security, Solaris Paper, Wal-Mart, Comcast, the Virginia Department of Labor, Lord Fairfax Community College, Shenandoah University, Virginia State Police, Goodwill/Horizon, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army.

Positions range from entry-level to management in industries such as health care, customer service, manufacturing, production, finance, sales, security and skilled trades.

Job seekers are encouraged to dress for success and bring a current resume. VEC re-employment staff as well as a veterans representative will be on hand to assist.

The event is free and open to the public.
