Be A Santa To A Senior program

Home Instead Senior Care is teaming up with non-profit agencies and area retailers to sponsor Be a Santa to a Senior - a program that collects, wraps and delivers gifts to lonely and needy seniors in Winchester, Frederick, Clarke, Warren and Shenandoah Counties.
Nov. 16: Trees go up in area stores and businesses.
Dec.17-21: Delivery of gifts to seniors in the community.
Christmas trees will feature ornaments with the first names of the seniors and their respective gift requests. The trees will be located: Walgreens Drug Store, 326 Amherst Street, Winchester; Walgreens Drug Store, 645 E. Jubal Early Dr., Winchester; K-Mart, 1675 S. Pleasant Valley Rd., Winchester; Amherst Diner, 334 Amherst St., Winchester; Walgreens Drug Store, 701 Fairfax Pike, Stephens City; Walgreens Drug Store, 131 Valley Mill Rd., Winchester; K-Mart, 465 South St., Front Royal; Shenandoah Sew and Vac, 498 N. Main St., Woodstock; Liberty Baptist Church, 29110 Old Valley Pike, Strasburg; Vivid Hair Design, 110-A E. High St., Woodstock; Clarke County Parks & Recreation, 225 Al Smith Circle, Berryville.
Holiday shoppers are asked to pick up an ornament off special Be a Santa to a Senior Christmas trees, buy items on the list and return them unwrapped to the store, along with the ornament attached. The Home Instead Senior Care office will then enlist the volunteer help of its staff, senior-care business associates, non-profit workers and others to collect, wrap and distribute the gifts.
