Nov. 18 - 12:30 p.m. - Front Royal Elks Lodge 2382 will be holding their annual "Hoop Shoot Free Throw" contest in the gym at Ressie Jeffries Elementary School on W. Criser Rd., Front Royal. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m.
All girls and boys, ages 8-13 as of April 1, 2013 are eligible to compete. Girls and boys compete separately. Age groups include 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13. The top scoring child in each of the six divisions will be eligible to move on to the North District competition to be held in Leesburg in January. The state finals are held in Charlottesville in February; regional finals in Frederick, Md.; and national championship in Springfield, Mass.
