Master Gardeners meeting and classes

Jan. 15, 6-9 p.m. - Frederick County Office of the Virginia Cooperative Extension will hold a pre-registration meeting at University of Virginia's Blandy Experimental Farm and the State Arboretum of Virginia, 400 Blandy Farm Ln, Boyce, for anyone interested in becoming a Master Gardener.
Classes will be held at Blandy on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., from Feb. 12 through May 4 (plus any snow make up dates). In addition, several Saturday afternoon hands-on workshops will be held.
Seasoned Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer questions at the pre-registration event. Those who register and pay for the class on or before Jan. 15 will receive a 10 percent discount on registration. Registration fees of $200, or $180 early registration, covers all training supplies, including a comprehensive Master Gardener handbook, an integrated pest manual, and materials related to the weekly lectures.
