The City of Winchester started their planned utility work along the Historic Old Mall downtown on Jan. 2. Forty two trees are coming down to accommodate this important revitalization project. But thanks to City employees working with the Shenandoah Arts Council, the trees will be divided up among area wood artisans and furniture makers to become original pieces of art.
Anyone who works with wood and is interested in participating in this project, call Tracy Marlatt at 540-667-5166 or email tmarlatt@shenarts.org.
