Food Matters library program


July 31, 6:30 p.m. -- Handley Regional Library in Winchester will host the program Food Matters: A Conversation with Two Local Farmers in the Handley Library Auditorium, with Beth Nowak, owner of Mayfair Farm, Bunker Hill, W.Va., and manager of the Freight Station Farmers Market, Winchester; and Forrest Pritchard, owner of Smith Meadows Farm, Clarke County, and author of "Gaining Ground, A Story of Farmers' Markets, Local Food and Saving the Family Farm."

They will share food and farming trends they have seen come and go over time and discuss the benefits of locally grown food to the consumer and to the community.
