Nibblins Edibles and Gifts, 229 Market St., Winchester, will present two cooking classes in tribute to Julia Child.
Aug. 9, 6:30-8:30 p.m. -- Nibblins co-owner Blair Dolinar will celebrate Julia Child, who helped bring classic French cuisine to the United States and in turn inspired a generation of cooks to expand their skills. Aug. 15 would have been Child's 100th birthday, so celebrate her memory by making omelets, fish meuniere and crepes, timeless classics from a culinary icon. This class will be an interactive demonstration. Cost: $50.
Aug. 17, 10 a.m.-noon -- Suzette Crabtree and Patricia Reitz will demonstrate how to bake one of child's more complicated desserts, Charlotte Marlakoff, from scratch, making each component individually, and then assembling the finished masterpiece. This is an interactive demonstration class. Cost: $42. Information: firstname.lastname@example.org, 540-535-0787.
