Historial Society program


Sept. 10, 7 p.m. -- The Shenandoah County Historical Society will host a program by author Jonathan Noyalas at the St. Paul's Heritage Center, 106 S. High St., Edinburg. The program "Faded From the Memory of the Average Reader: The Meaning and Legacy of Fisher's Hill" will examine the significance of the battle and what the battlefield landscape meant to both sides in the era of reconciliation.

Noyalas is the author of a new book, "The Battle of Fisher's Hill -- Breaking the Shenandoah Valley's Gibraltar." The program is free and refreshments will be served. For more information, call 540-984-7082 or visit www.shenandoahcountyhistoricalsociety.org.
