Dec. 6 and 7 -- Middleburg will hold a series of community events to celebrate Christmas in Middleburg with the backdrop of a classic hunt country village.
Dec. 6, 5 p.m. -- A Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony will be held with caroling behind the Pink Box Visitor Center, 12 N. Madison St. followed by a holiday concert at A Pace to Be.
Dec. 7, 8:30 a.m. -- Start the day by having breakfast with Santa and a silent auction at Middleburg Elementary School.
11 a.m. -- Middleburg Hunt Review creates a spectacular sight as approximately 100 horses, riders in pink coats and dozens of hounds come through town. Throughout the day, enjoy hayrides, choir performances, a craft fair at Middleburg Community Center, 300 W. Washington St. and the Middleburg Garden Club's Christmas Flowers and Greens show at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, with shopping and dining in the town's shops and restaurants.
2 p.m. -- A Christmas parade will begin along Washington St. (U.S. 50). A unique assortment of floats, troops, and musical groups will march by. In keeping with the animal friendliness of the town the parade include horses, llamas, alpacas and dogs with Santa bringing up the rear in a horse drawn coach.
3 to 6 p.m. -- A Wine Crawl will include the taste of Virginia wines at many of the town's quaint taverns, restaurants and businesses. A full list of wine and crawl stops can be found at www.ChristmasinMiddleburg.org
