Pet of the Week: Purr-fect pair seeks family
FRONT ROYAL — Shelter staff at the the Humane Society of Warren County hope a pair of siblings will be able to celebrate their first birthdays with a loving family.
Jiminy and Gladys, two 8-month-old domestic shorthair cats, were brought to the animal shelter in June shortly after they were born. They’re now two of the longest residents at the Front Royal shelter, said Michael Kerns, feline team leader.
He said the two cats are very energetic and playful, and have independent personalities.
“They’re pretty active, so they probably wouldn’t mind having an active family,” he said, “but they probably would do just as well in a quiet household, as long as they had enough things to keep their attention, like toys and a scratching post.”
Although the two are friendly with each other, Kerns said the brother and sister haven’t formed too strong of an attachment and can be adopted separately.
The white and gray cats are housebroken, he added, and get along well with other cats.
Jiminy and Gladys are neutered and spayed, and are up to date on all of their vaccines.
As a special rate through December, the cost for adopting either Jiminy or Gladys is $25.
The Humane Society of Warren County will hold an adoption special at the Front Royal Petco on Christmas Eve, and will also remain open then, which Kerns said is the biggest adoption day of the year.
The animal shelter is located at 1245 Progress Drive in Front Royal.
