The wrong byline was added to this story on Thursday’s A5 – “Offer driver’s licenses to immigrants, lawmakers say.” The story was by Brian Williams of Capital News Service.
In Thursday’s article regarding boundary adjustments and where students attend school, it incorrectly stated, “The rest of the students live on the boundary line and are allowed to decide which school they want to attend.”
Students who live on the boundary line are not allowed to decide which school they want to attend. Students are expected to attend the school in their attendance zone unless they are crossing boundaries as a result of a student’s instructional need due to a disability or his or her parents are employees of the school division. Additionally, some students have been given permission by prior superintendents to attend a school outside of their attendance zone.
