Shenandoah Valley Electric will have its sixth president and CEO in its history, now that Michael Hastings has assumed the title. Hastings replaces current president and CEO Myron D. Rummel, who is retiring.

Traffic on John Marshall Highway near Linden was closed off for three hours Tuesday afternoon as Warren County Fire and Rescue Services units responded to a tractor trailer cab that had caught fire.

Supervisors approve $101.7 million budget

The Warren County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved a fiscal 2017 budget of $101.70 million that will raise real estate taxes from 59 ½ cents to 62 cents per $100 of assessed value, a decrease from the 3 ½ cent increase that had been advertised earlier this month.

FRONT ROYAL – Students from E. Wilson Morrison Elementary School were sent to the hospital Monday afternoon after two charter buses crashed on John Marshall Highway.
