School team finishes second overall in Certamen Finals

Last Saturday, four eighth grade students from Wakefield Country Day School in Huntly competed in the Statewide Certamen Finals.

Team members Harmony Lindstrom, Douglas Griffin, Tony Elar and Zoe Porterfield finished in second place overall.

At the competition, students also competed individually in the academic decathlon, testing their knowledge of classical language and culture.

WCDS students completed a sweep of the event, with Griffin earning the top award for eighth grade students and Porterfiled finishing in second place. The competition, held at Flint Hill School in Oakton, featured teams from across the state testing their knowledge in a variety of challenges.
